My Story
Hi, I’m Jaime—a wife and mother of two children, including a 20-year-old son with severe autism. Over the years, I have been a dedicated advocate for families like mine, helping them navigate the overwhelming and confusing path to securing essential services and support for their autistic children.
Through my Facebook page, Homebound and Healing, I have shared our family’s journey - including some of the toughest challenges - like weathering a child's self-injurious and aggressive behavior. What started as a way to document our story evolved into a mutually supportive community that connected me with families all over the world.
A former atheist, I tried fruitlessly to fill an internal void with external things: food; relationships; and alcohol. After battling alcoholism for two decades, I found hope and healing through a 12-step recovery program. That journey led me to develop a deeply personal relationship with God, giving me the strength to stay sober and discover the peace and purpose I had been searching for.
I am passionate about nurturing the mind, body, and spirit. Whether it’s through sharing my love of food, fitness, or personal and spiritual growth, I believe meaningful change begins with small, intentional steps to keep things simple and manageable.
My goal is to offer practical resources, inspiration, and support to help others create balanced, fulfilling lives. Wherever you are on your journey, I hope my experiences and insights can encourage and support you toward self-discovery and healing.
